{"id":9902,"date":"2017-11-16T12:37:31","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T17:37:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bfp.makingitsimple.net\/?p=9902"},"modified":"2017-11-16T12:37:31","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T17:37:31","slug":"brevard-family-partnership-seeks-holiday-gift-drive-partners-to-benefit-children-in-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fpocf.org\/brevard-family-partnership-seeks-holiday-gift-drive-partners-to-benefit-children-in-care\/","title":{"rendered":"Brevard Family Partnership Seeks Holiday Gift Drive Partners to Benefit Children in Care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MELBOURNE, FL \u2013 November 16, 2017 \u2013 Brevard Family Partnership (BFP) is currently seeking community partners to participate in the annual holiday gift drive, benefiting children in care.<\/p>\n<p>Every year, the Brevard Family Partnership family of agencies, including Brevard C.A.R.E.S., and Family Allies, join forces with local partners to ensure every child in care has a gift to open this holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>The agencies have identified every child receiving services, either through the formal dependency system or involved in a voluntary abuse prevention or diversion program; this year, there are approximately 1,300 children in care who are in need of the community\u2019s support. Each of these children have identified personal Christmas wishes, which is then shared with community partners who help make sure each child receives gifts that are exclusively theirs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn many cases, without the generous outpouring of support from our local businesses, organizations, and faith based communities, these children would not have gifts to open on their special holiday.\u201d said BFP\u2019s Public Relations Manager, Melissa Breckenridge.<\/p>\n<p>There are several ways for community members to get involved including businesses becoming collection sites for donations, engaging employees to \u201cadopt\u201d children and providing gifts from their holiday wish list, or making a financial contribution.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>For Additional Information on how you can help make the holiday season merry and bright for children in our community, please contact <a href=\"mailto:amanda.finley@fpocf.org\">amanda.finley@fpocf.org <\/a>or call <strong>(321) 752.4650<\/strong> Ext. <strong>3084<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>About Brevard Family Partnership<\/h3>\n<p>Established in 2003 as a non-profit organization in response to the Legislative mandate to privatize foster care and related services in Florida (Section 409.986, Florida Statutes), Brevard Family Partnership is Brevard County\u2019s lead child welfare agency. The agency was subsequently awarded the contract, through the Florida Department of Children and Families, to manage Brevard County\u2019s child welfare system.
