{"id":934,"date":"2010-09-30T15:53:51","date_gmt":"2010-09-30T19:53:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/74.117.146.64\/~brevardf\/?p=934"},"modified":"2010-09-30T15:53:51","modified_gmt":"2010-09-30T19:53:51","slug":"bfp-a-best-adoption-friendly-workplace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fpocf.org\/bfp-a-best-adoption-friendly-workplace\/","title":{"rendered":"BFP a Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode;\">MELBOURNE, FL \u2013 September 30, 2010 \u2013 For the second consecutive year\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fpocf.org\/\">Brevard Family Partnership<\/a>\u00a0has been named one of the \u201cBest Adoption-Friendly Workplaces\u201d by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.davethomasfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dave Thomas Foundation<\/a>\u00a0for Adoption.\u00a0 BFP ranked tenth in the Top 100 Small Employer (1-100 employees) category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode;\">\u00a0Rankings for the fourth annual Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces are determined by an analysis of a company\u2019s adoption benefits, such as financial reimbursement and paid leave available to its employees who adopt.\u00a0 The Foundation compiled the results from survey data collected from nearly 500 U.S. employers and partnered with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.benefitnews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Employee Benefit News<\/a>, a SourceMedia publication that is the leading source of information for benefits decision makers, to announce the winners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode;\">\u201cWe are honored to have again been chosen as a Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace by the Dave Thomas Foundation,\u201d said Brevard Family Partnership CEO, Dr. Patricia Nellius-Guthrie.\u00a0 \u201cAs the lead agency for child welfare services, we are committed to providing our employees with the resources that will assist them in becoming adoptive parents to a child who needs the love and safety of a \u2018forever\u2019 home, just as we do for the many adoptive parents we serve throughout Brevard.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lucida Sans Unicode;\">\u00a0Today, 83 children in Brevard are either available for or in the process of adoption; in the U.S. more than 114,000 who reside in foster care are available for adoption. Most will spend nearly four years in the child welfare system before they are adopted.
